Model #11045081401 Kenmore Elite residential washer The washer will start but only after holding the start button for 1-3 minutes; tried press & release repeatedly; tried open & close door; even put in new door interlock. This seems random nothing seems to really work except time. Everything else is great.

Hi, Looking at the push button switch part for your model, to me it seems as though it may just push the actual buttons on the washer user interface board. Both these parts are shown on the Control Panel diagram, parts # 5 & #3. It may be that since the Start button is the most used button on the machine that the button actuator (part #5) may be worn down. Try removing the button set and gently use a suitable non metallic probe to operate the “Start button” in the interface board and see if the machine starts without having to exert too much pressure on the switch. If it still takes some pressure to operate this way then the problem is in the interface board.

The model number can be found either around the inside opening of the door. You will find a sticker that has both serial number and model number listed.
