Hi all, For some reason proximity/light sensors are not working in my iPhone 7plus. I have tried 3 different sensor cables and none of them seem to work. Front camera, speaker and everything else works fine, just proximity/light sensors don’t work. Does anyone know why this might be? Thanks
If multiple prox sensors are not working, then you have to consider a logic board issue. Start by checking the connector for damage or debris. If that looks fine, then start probing the prox power rail. The proximity sensor is powered by PP3V0_TRISTAR_ANT_PROX, more specifically, it goes through FL2910 to become PP3V0_PROX_CONN. I would check condition of the filter and then the voltage to see if the prox sensor is getting it’s power.
Has the screen been replaced, for the light sensor you are using auto brightness which is under display accommodation in settings > general to test it right? For proximity sensor is it not working at all or going to black screen during calls? A green permanent marker can be used to adjust the sensitivity of the proximity sensor, it should make it less sensitive. Basically you need to put a green dot where the glass is for the proximity sensor behind the screen. If it does not work you can always use cotton swab coated in isopropyl alcohol to clean it off.
