Chosen Solution
Hi, I have an Oster Prima Latte, it is essentially a Mr. Coffee Cafe Barista knock-off. The problem is that everything works “fine” excepts that no matter what selection a make (1 cup or 2 cups) the pump never stops, until security function detects the pump is on for too long and it self-set at error stage (all LEDs start blinking). I’ve disassemble it completely, changed the O-rings on all the connections, cleaned all electronic conectors and circuit board, but nothing has solved this. Hope you can help me with this. P.S.: I have basic electronic knowledge and count with all the necessary tools: DMM, soldering iron, desoldering wick, etc,.
So checking all the electronics, I came with the problem, it was the water flow sensor from the water reservoir, it has three (03) terminals with soldered cables covered with thermal shrinks, two of them were broken, but the thermal shrink doesn’t allowed me to see it. Removed the thermal shrink, re-stripped the cables, slide new thermal shrinks, soldered and it was done. Didn’t kept photographic log of the process, maybe later i’ll do a disassembly guide and point to the details of the repair.
*Just as of curiosity, when you had this problem, does the cappuccino or latte program worked?
Nothing worked buddy. *I wasn’t able to get in touch with Mr. Lau at the time, he solved his problem and deduced it as loose soldering of a water-sensor-part Unfortunately for me as nature of my job has me away for many months, I have lost the reassembly photos and project still awaits me, as all parts have been kept seperate. (RIC to Mr. Lau, if you’re still active) IF SOMEONE HAS EVEN AN AMATEURS GUIDE TO REASSEMBLY OF THIS UNIT, PLEASE POST.
Hi lau, Just wondering buddy, when will you make that guide. I really want to get this fixed. Thanks again, -Yash
