Hi, my Nikon Coolpix ‘P520’ camera will change modes on the top dial randomly without even touching it. Is there any way of fixing this issue? Thanks in advance.
Hi @joel753 , It seems as though the mode dial switch may be faulty. Here is a link to the ifixit Nikon Coolpix P530 Repair guides. (couldn’t find one for the P520 but this one may be close enough to be of some help to you) Possibly also of some help is the ifixit Nikon COOLPIX P600 Lens Replacement guide which shows in Steps.9-12 the removal of the mode dial assembly as it looks very similar to the P520 Here is a link to a supplier of a P520/P530 Top Cover Mode Dial Shutter Button Flex Cable Black replacement. It is not a recommendation to use the supplier, it is shown merely to give an idea of the cost. There may be others online that suit you better Hopefully this is of some help
