Chosen Solution
Been given a destroyed 5s to fix, it was basically mashed up from a ride on lawnmower!!! So the bottom left had the microphone cut off, and also the little resistor flex that goes around the headphone jack. What is this part actually called, as I’m having problems locating it, and what’s its function? Amazingly, everything else is working fine!!!! Many thanks Update (10/21/2015) Just to be clear. I am replacing the whole dock connector. BUT the small part in the link below is damaged, it is this part which does not come with the new dock connector. This is attach with a small amount of adhesive and secured with the two screws at the bottom left and top right of the headphone jack.
