I was removing the microphone connector and the 2 silver pins on either side of the socket fell out and I can’t find them. Are they important and if so where can I get new ones? So on the socket there’s 5 gold pins and 1 silver pin on either side Please please help!! Cheers!! Bill
You’ll need to look for them as you don’t want them shorting out your logic board. Sadly, the pins are needed for the connector on the logic board to work properly. If you pulled the latch all the way out they will fall out and you could have damaged the connector on the logic board. You’ll need to find a junker logic board to carefully salvage the pieces to fix your system. Otherwise its time for a new logic board - Ouch!
