A while back when I bought and replaced my battery, I accidentally broke the top flex cable. I decided to buy a replacement later on, and proceeded to put my phone back together. The selfie camera, top speaker, and ambience sensor didn’t work of course since the flex cable broke. But after a while, my microphone stopped working as well. I replaced the flex cable today. All of the original problems regarding the cable are fixed. The microphone is the only component not working. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Are you able to switch on speaker phone during calls? If it’s greyed out and you can’t the problem is caused by the audio chip going loose on the board. Very common on 7 and 7 plus because of the housing being too hollow near the Sim tray and power button area which lines up where the audio chip is. To get it fixed you’ll need to take the phone to a reputable repair shop that does microsoldering.
