Hello, What would cause the microphone and fingerprint sensor to work sometimes? Is it a motherboard issue or will possibly replacing the lightning port fix this? Thanks!
The Lightning port doesn’t have anything to do with the Touch ID sensor. If it is not recognizing your finger prints, then it may be damaged. This functionality cannot be replaced. As for the microphone, there are three microphones in an iPhone: The bottom microphone is for Voice Memo and phone calls. The other microphones serve as error cancellationThe (top) front microphone is used for FaceTime calls, Siri and selfie videos with the front camera (FCAM). The top back microphone serves as error cancellationThe (top) back microphone is used for videos with the rear camera (RCAM). The top front microphone serves as error cancellation You will need to troubleshoot your phone a bit more to understand what doesn’t work and under what conditions.
