I removed my memory card last night from my Canon a590IS to upload my pix from a card reader to my hard drive on my computer, now when I try to put the memory card back in the camera it does not want to fully go back in. This is the first time I have had this problem. I locked and unlocked the memory card to no avail. The door will close with out the memory card in it, but when I try to put the memory card back in, it will not go in all the way.What to do?
Look inside your memory slot with a flashlight and check for misaligned contact at the base of the slot or something that could make obstruction.
I have the same problem with a PS A580 and haven’t found an answer yet. I looked in the slot with a flashlight and couldn’t see anything. Does anyone know how these things are supposed to work. I suspect that there is a small spring at the bottom of the memory slot with a miniature catch and that somehow this spring has moved from the catch and is blocking the release mechanism. Does anyone know how these memory slots work?
