Chosen Solution

I recently purchased a late model Melex (guessing from the 80’s). When I accelerate, forward or reverse, it kind of ‘jumps’ or ‘bucks’ and then evens out. My husband (who is very good with cars/figuring things our like this) cleaned off the batteries and all the connections, filled them with fresh distilled water and that didn’t do anything to change the issue. He purchased a new solenoid and when he installed it, the golf cart started accelerating without him pushing on the gas…..it was weird. He put the old solenoid back on and it is back to how it was. The batteries are a few years old and per the gentleman at the golf shop where he bought the solenoid, the brand (2013 Autocraft) are not great and he said they may be on their last leg. We wondered if that may be it. Also, tonight when we took it for a drive, the lights dimmed a little when we gave it gas, did it over the weekend too. Not even sure if that is even related to the bucking issue. This is our first gold cart and so we are learning as we go…..which I’m sure will be great in a year or so, but for now we are stumped. Thanks for any help you can give!!
