Hi community. I posted on here the othwr day about issues when replacing a touch IC then losing the whole phone to shorts. I thought i would post up what has happened after nearly all repairs i have dome to see if anyone else has had the same problem and may know what it is. I have never got a new batch of chips (due to trying to find a new supplier and buying ’new’ but never getting new) so its always my first suspect, but has anyone else had this problwm and it ended up being something else?? (No its not the screen being the issue)
So i put another chip on this morning, put the screen on again and there was less curtains. The screen was fine prior to the repair, but when i tested it on another device it had the same pattern. Put a new screen on and it was crystal clear and had touch back :)
I use microsolderingsupply.com haven’t had any issues
I have never seen a touch ic complication that was due to a bad chip. Take off meson and see if you have normal display. This is almost certainly a technique problem.
I’ve had that issue with Meson IC purchased from Mengtor
