I was playing around with my iPhone 3G and opened up the top glass with digitzer to see inside the iPhone. After I’ve done that couple of times, I realized that the speaker doesn’t work. In oredr to talk to someone, I either use headphones (so annoying) or speaker phone function. Apple wants to charge me about $230 for the repair (also they weren’t sure if the problem is only in LCD or the logic board). Please help me out with what I should do. Thanks in advance.
Your headphones port is completely separate from your speakers. What you will need to get is a IPHONE 3G RINGER PORT BUZZER SPEAKER ANTENNA FLEX PART. You want to get the whole assembly already done for you because it is hard to do it yourself if your a noob. You can find this on ebay. The part if you want in America is like a max of 25 USD and Foreign is about 15 USD max. LEt me know if this helps you out.
If I read this correctly, it is the speaker for your ear that is not working (hence the headphones or speakerphone). Your first course of action is to double-check the 3 connections that connect the front panel to the logic board (using this guide). Make sure these 3 connections are properly connected. Did this fix the problem?
Use a q-tip (with most of the cotton pulled off) to push into the earphone jack, twist in one direction and then pull out. Worked on my second try. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo_ECNsZN…
