main phone works but the other two dont
Hi, Have you tried plugging the main phone into the two other phone sockets to see if they work? Have you tried the other two phones by plugging them into the main phone socket to see if they work? Once you have proven which phones and sockets work and which ones don’t, in the case of faulty sockets you will need to check the wiring. It usually (but doesn’t have to) goes from where the cable comes in from the street into a socket, then onto the next socket and then onto the last. It only takes one wire to be broken or connected to the wrong socket terminal for it not to work. If it is a phone that is faulty, try changing the cable that connects from the telephone to the telephone socket or the receiver cable that connects from the body of the phone to the receiver. If it is a phone that requires AC power to work, make sure that the appropriate power cord is connected to the phone and that it is plugged into a known working power outlet and that is switched on, and that the phone cable is plugged into the telephone socket.
