My early 2008 Macbook Pro 15" is having trouble charging. I have to push the charger into the port at just the right angle to get it to start charging. Is it the port that is causing the problem or the cord (it is a replacement cord)? I would like to replace whichever is the problem if I can. I could not find a guide to replace a port on my laptop. I have never opened a computer/laptop myself; I don’t know anything on how to start. My computer also has a terrible time overheating. I believe that the fan doesn’t work properly (I am using a cooling board with a fan and it helps) and the dvd/cd reader doesn’t work at far as I know either (I believe that is from it getting too hot). The fans have what looks like a radiator that the air flows through to cool. Over time these can become blocked with lint. Remove both fans and blow them out and clean the lint out.
