My l shaped magsafe wasnt lighting up or powering on macbook. It worked fine a few weeks ago. Had it in a drawer. I opened the back case up and connected the magsafe without the back case on. It lit up immediately. I placed the back case back on and nothing. Repeated the steps and took cover back off and connected it…nothing. Whats going on with this macbook?
Is the system able to boot up without the MagSafe adapter? In addition what is the condition of the cord and the connectors. Review this Apple T/N: Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters. Make sure the pins and pads of the connectors are clean.
Hard to answer without testing..it might be the magsafe, the I/O board/cable, logic board. Try checking the magsafe pins on the connector one by one..they have springs and should move when pressure is applied..if they don’t use a contact cleaning spray to remove possible dirt or oxide. As alternative, trying a known working magsafe would be a must here, before anything else.
