My macbook had a run in with some liquid but everything still works aside from the keyboard which i am having replaced, but oddly it wont go into sleep mode when selected from the menubar it will go black for about 5 sec. then wakes back up. I think its because the keyboard constantly thinks im pressing the shift key(from liquid damage), is this the reason?
It could be–liquid damage does strange things. You will know for certain after you replace the keyboard. While you are at it I would strongly recommend you follow the ifixit liquid damage guide to be on the safe side and to prevent further damage. Good luck. Electronics Water Damage
