Hello. I’ve been given a Macbook Pro where, it seems, the Airport cable was connected backwards. It was turned on, smelled funny, and was turned off. Now, when the cable for the isight / airport is attached to the logic board the system won’t start at all. Remove the cable, it runs fine, but without isight or airport. Any ideas? Is it the logic board, isight, airport, the cable? Thanks!
Since it starts without the iSight, Airport cables you can rule out the logic board. The camera cable AFAIK is not near the bluetooth/airport connector. Try one connector - to the correct spot - insulate the other connector. I think you may have blown the bluetooth/airport card. When booted what does System Profiler:Bluetooth, then Network lastly Wi-Fi reveal about the state of your cards. If this answer was helpful please remember to return an mark it Accepted.
