Two days from this post, I was using my macbook till the battery ran out. I left uncharged for a few hours and then I started plug in my charger. When I plugged it in, the light on the magsafe charger was amber. I tried to turn it on immediatly but it wouldn’t so I left it charging for an hour. I checked back on it and the amber light is stil there. I tried turning it on but it wouldn’t. I attempted an SMC reset but I noticed that the magsafe light wouldn’t blink to green indicating a successful reset. I attempted multiple smc resets but light wouldn’t change. I then left it charging until it was green to perform another Smc reset. Still didn’t work as the magsafe light didn’t change as well. Is there anyway to fix this? Some minor detail; The first time i started charging, i plugged my mouse as well. I unplugged my mouse after realizing my mac wouldn’t turn on.
Hello! Sorry to hear about your computer. An alternate way to do an SMC reset on the machine would be to open it up using a pentalobe screwdriver (While the computer is not connected to a power source), then unplugging the battery from the Logic Board. Once you do that, plug in your charger and see of the computer powers on— it likely will. If this works, shut down your computer, re-plug the battery, and attempt to power on as you would normally. Good luck!
