Hello everyone, Would appreciate a keyboard+backlight replacement that actually works. I will post some photos, replaced keyboard on an A1502 late 2013, liquid damaged. The keyboard is fine, took out 80%+ of rivets, bolted in, feels and works fine. But the backlight - piece of chinese engineering, only lights up top row function/F keys properly, rest of keyboard is dim and poor. Ended up using the original backlight strip, cleaned with isopropyl, looks good, not like new… I’m a perfectionist, if anyone knows a good manufacturer/ place to buy a working backlight, I’m willing to pay the price to have something that is working fine. The hours and nerve wrecking job makes me think it is better to recommend whole palmrest replacement with or without battery… Thank you!

You need to get a new genuine one, or a used genuine one (will have marks on the back of the backlight, but will light up fine). Genuine for the A1502 will have a silver foil between the gaps for keys (instead of white plastic), and it will have stickers as seen in the picture below (picture is one I took a while back for another question of the A1278, so it does not have silver foil like A1502 backlights do).

I get my backlights from China with my other parts, I have never found genuine or genuine used backlights on eBay, they are all junk.

Do you have a link to where one can be purchased? Thank you. Ken
