Chosen Solution
So out of nowhere my keyboard seems to be malfunctioning (No liquid spills, overheating, and it hasn’t been dropped). When I type certain letters, I’ll get a combination of surrounding letters too. For instance, if I type the letter A, I’ll get as instead, the letter January gives me jkl, etc. To even log in I had to use an external keyboard because upon restarting it just types \\\\\ continuously. If I press the caps lock key, it cannot be turned off again. It’s a MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch early 2015, and I got it about two months ago. I do have apple care, but if it can be fixed by changing a setting or something I’d rather save the hassle and do it myself.
Will either be an issue with the keyboard or keyboard connector, caused by a small amount of liquid. Check the keyboard connector on the logic board for liquid damage. If there is none, it will be a keyboard issue. The keyboards are riveted in on this model and you have to remove the battery as well, so if you haven’t carried out repairs before, send it somewhere.
