My Macbook Pro does not start (boot) anymore, no sign of life at all. What I tried so far:

  1. pressing the power on button in various combinations with the cmd, ctrl and shift buttons (as suggested on some websites)
  2. removed the battery, pressed the start button for at least 10 seconds and replaced the battery
  3. removed the battery and tried to start without battery (but with the battery charger connected) Doing a battery check (pushbutton at the left side) rusults is no leds lighting when the battery charger is disconnected and all leds lighting when the battery charger is connected. Any help is appreciated, Rik

Knowing the exact year/model would assist us with getting specific info for you. Check the power adapter voltage with a meter. Perhaps it has failed. Can you borrow another adapter or charge the battery in another MacBook ?

Did your MagSafe only light up with a dim green light? Mine shows only a dim green light with the battery in or just the AC. The battery lights are all off. Do you think your fix would work in my case?

Anyone else in this situation can try this, to verify if the battery is the culprit (on older Mac models with removable battery): https://osxdaily.com/2019/06/14/how-boot
