Hi all, so recently my MacBook Pro Early 2015 13’ was water damaged but by dry facepaint. The Mac completely started pressing keys and the trackpad became unresponsive but would still click. I shut the Mac off completely and put it in a tent position hoping the Logic Board will not be damaged. After leaving the device for 72 hours I attempted to boot, nothing appeared on the screen so I plugged it into the wall charger, still nothing. So I thought the keyboard was damaged and the power button was also not working. I googled many alternatives to booting my mac up and I disconnected the battery and attached the MagSafe connector it booted but the keyboard was completely unresponsive. The trackpad was clicking but I could not move the cursor with the built-in trackpad. USB Keyboard and Mouse work fine but the built-in Keyboard and Mouse are not. Could this be software? I have reset the SMC and PRAM but they havnt’t worked. I hope the Keyboard and Trackpad themselves are not broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Many Thanks, Noah :)
If you had a liquid spill of anything (face paint?) the evaporation of the water or solvent won’t remove the solids (dyes and hardeners within the paint) thats still in there! Even Tap water is not clean! The minerals within it will still be left. So you need to get your system to someone who has the deeper skills to open up your system and properly clean it up. Even still your system may need new parts and even that many not be enough! The more time it sits stewing the worse it will be! There is nothing you can do within software here.
