Grandson hit the MacBook Pro with a decent water pistol squirt. It shut down for several days. When it booted, I can here chime and hard drive coming on line, but to a black screen. Happy to hear all possibilities to check before I start buying parts.
If you start buying parts for a water damaged 2010 MBP, you may easily end up spending much more than a second hand equivalent Macbook would cost you. It’s a 10 years old Mac and although its market value is very low, spares are expensive. Consider carefully and look around for costs, as you may have to replace screen, logic board, keyboard, etc..
