Hello, I’ve bought a 2011 MacBook Pro 15”, but the display screen is black. The external video HDMI works perfectly! I’ve checked the displays LVDS cable and is was horrible. So I changed this cable by new one but the problem is still present. Another problem is the keyboard, only the W-S keys work. No power button. To start the system I needed to connect MagSafe charger. Does anyone have solution …
It seems to be a water damaged Mac from the issues described. Hard to tell exactly what needs to be replaced but we talk about a component level issue that’s not a DIY repair. For a non technician it would require purchase of quite a bit of tools, skills and weeks of study of schematics to get a clue on what may be wrong. All in all, a logic board replacement or a microsoldering pro would be needed to get the Mac back in working order.
