Hi all, I had a 2nd MacBook Pro 2010 Mid 15" with i7, 4G Ram (It is a 1333Mhz, and using 1 Bank, so I still one bank RAM slot is empty right now). I had search Google before, and look like this model work with 1066MHz only, but I am not too sure. Since new on this. I want to buy other 4G Ram then install it to the empty slot.. But now, all 4G Ram is 1333Mhz, can’t find the 1066MHz Ram anymore on 1st Market … Do anyone using this model who success install two 1333MHz 4G ram running on it? I am using OS X 10.9.5 and OS X 10.10.2 with dual boot on it.. Thank you. Best Regards, Jimmy Chan My web site My blog
It has been known to work most of the time, sometimes not. However, putting faster memory sticks in won’t buy you better performance. You are limited by the clock speed of the front side bus and memory controller. You are restricted by the design the engineers originally intended the limits to be. Match the existing stick of RAM and you should be fine.
It doesn’t work on 1333mhz and wouldnt make any real performance difference. Ive had a laptop that i was able to turn on with 1333mhz after fitting but then wouldn’t cold boot the next morning.
