What is this cable for right here if anyone can recognize it? It won’t go back in, anything I can do?
That’s the keyboard ribbon cable. Unlock the retainer, put a piece of electrical tape on it and pull it into the socket. See step #17 on this guide: MacBook Pro 17" Unibody Logic Board Replacement
