Hi, The Powerbutton on my macbook is failing to work. When the macbook is on pressing the button has no effect, and when the macbook is off I often have to press the power button down for several minutes before it will begin to boot. Any ideas on how to fix this? Searching through the repair guides I didn’t see one where I could remove the keyboard/power button. Thanks!

Sounds like possibly the keyboard to logic board ribbon may not be fully seated. See step #18 of this guide: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2008 and Early 2009 Logic Board Replacement I use a piece of tape on the cable to help pull it into the slot and then push the lock down after it’s fully seated..
