Hello, I have a MacBook Retina early 2016 which I tried to reinstall the OS on however it told me there was no starting disk, how can I get one or install one? This MacBook has a soldered SSD and RAM, and no disk slot so I’m guessing its something I have to install. Thank you for your help

Looks like you can boot into recovery mode. First run Disk Utility and see if you can repair the storage unit. If not you may have to reformat the drive and then try installing a system. If it were in a shop, they would try using an external drive to boot from and work on the storage.

These Macbooks are relatively prone to fail because of failing memory chips. Since it seems software “repair” didn’t fix the issue, there’s nothing else left but a board replacement.
