Dear community, I am trying to find reliable information about new or used replacement parts for a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro. The keyboard needs to be replaced, and I thought about changing the whole metal body, too. My search pointed me to the model number 1286, but this seems to be ambiguous. Used parts refer to this number, but sometimes also to older Macbooks like the “pre-Mid-2012” version from 2011 with the same model number or even earlier. My question is whether these parts, at least the keyboard and the metal frame for keyboard and trackpad, are interchangeable between these models. Also whether even the 1398 parts would possibly work. If I finally find a fitting keyboard, did the original ones all have backlight? And a bonus question: Are the UK- and German keyboards interchangeable with the French one in the same frame? I know that the Enter-key is different in the US-version, but the European ones look similar to me. Thank you!
