MacBook Air purchased early 2015 won’t turn on, I get a black screen with the Apple logo and a loading strip which doesn’t load. There is no water damage to the device but the hard drive is full. Currently need the contents for Uni assessments. Have tried power cycling, SMC? Reset, holding shift, control and alt with the power key, holding command, power and the letters R and P, and holding shift and power which gives me a nearly full loading strip but unfortunately freezes right before success - so frustrating. I have no tools to open things and I’m hoping to get it repaired before Tuesday (today is Saturday), any ideas welcomed. TIA MShell

Do you have access to a second Mac which you can interconnect your system to using Target Disk Mode? How to use target disk mode to move files to another computer If you can you should be able to gain access to the files, At least save your stuff. Then reformat the drive and re-install the OS. You should be able to recover your drive.

The solid state drive has failed. Will need to replace and reinstall Mac OS
