I have a 2008 macbook air with no video on the display or on an external monitor. It boots to the desktop as I can turn the volume up and down. Also, the keyboard backlight comes on when in a dark room. There is no image at all on the lcd even when a flashlight is shined on it. I have tried reseting the SMC and PRAM with no results. I’m wondering if I need to reflow the video card or maybe there’s an onboard fuse I can replace?

Sorry to hear that. You have a good logic board but the display is dead. Before saying such, please reseat the LVDS, the Display Cable connected to the logic board. That cable is on the left side of your logic board when you open it. It’s a flatter one. Pull this out and place in carefully. Now turn on and see it it helps. Otherwise, you have to change the display assembly. The whole display with clamshell. You can only replace the display, but the job is really serious. Even the techs destroy the screen film which is quite fragile. If you liked it, mark as accepted please. Thanks.
