Hey there, my Macbook Air early 2015 13” changes to standby when I´m connecting it to my (working) Magsafe. Battery is working as well. When I disconnect it, it´s turning back on by itself. History, I changed the logic board after the Macbook had a water damage and turned off itself after 10 Seconds. Now everything is working again, except charging. Does anybody know anything about something like that? I can´t find anything similar.
I had to replace to LogicBoard again, it´s working now. So if the screen turns black if someone connects the MagSafe it´s probably the LogicBoard.
Are you getting a orange light or green light on the charger while it’s plugged into the MacBook? Also what happens when you press the power button does the magsafe light switch from orange to green then to orange? I am suspecting a bad keyboard here if the magsafe light colors do change when the power button is pressed.
Did you replace the MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2013-2017) I/O Board when you replaced the logic board? I would start there.
i am having the same issue. with the 2014 macbookair, when i connect the magsafe charger the display goes to standby mode, (no display) when i remove display turns on. the problem is with the i/o board connector near the ssd, if i clean and solder the corroded connector the magsafe light comes to green and goes to normal orange, if i close the back cover and i give it little pressure then also it works, but i am yet to find the broken or loose track responsible for this issue.
