My MacBook Air will not power on when I press the power button. If I open the back and disconnect the battery I can get it to boot by plugging the power in. It will boot and work reliably. Even with the battery unplugged the power switch does nothing to power on or off the laptop. Once I plug the battery back and then I reapply the power cord it will boot one last time and work reliably off the battery. However, if I shut the laptop down I can not get it back on without unplugging the battery again. Here is a little background on this laptop. I received it with water damage that was evident in a backlight issue. I sent it off for repairs and the backlight issue was fixed and the laptop ran reliably for about a year. Then the power switch started having issues until I am at the point I initially described. Anyone have experience with something similar to this? Thanks for any advice you can provide. Peter

You really have no choice here you need a new keyboard to fix things here. The best way is just replace the uppercase assembly MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2013-2017) Upper Case with Keyboard used or new!
