My macbook wouldn’t boot. It showed a folder with a question mark instead. I’m in disk utility now but it’s not detecting a disk. When I go into First Aid it doesn’t let me click on verify disk or repair disk. I tried to reinstall the OS but it isn’t showing any disk to install on.
Just what drive is it? I suspect it’s an m2 and those just don’t work reliably in Macs. UPDATE I agree with @danj The owcssda12k480 is the correct stick for the 2012 MBP Retina https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/SSDA… I further agree with Dan that this one should be exchanged. Before doing so I would verify that your machine is the 2012 model as the A 1398 also includes the Late 2013-15 models and this stick will not work with those machine. “Not for use with Late 2013 MacBook Pro with Retina Display with model ID: MacBookPro11,x” You can verify your exact model at this link by inputting your serial number here: http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-loo…
