Hello everyone, I need your help, I have a 13” MacBook Pro Mid 2012. It was working perfectly and after I shut it down, I then tried to turn it on after sometime but it failed and it was stuck on the Apple screen. I tried all the troubleshooting I can think of but nothing seems to work. I tried to: Reset the PRAM and the VRAM but nothing happenedI tried to swap up different RAM but it failed alsoI tried to boot in Safe Mode but also has failedWhen I try to hold Command + R it is stuck on Apple logoI tried the hardware diagnosis and the test passed but still won’t boot upI tried Internet recovery but it is not working too I finally tried to reset my system and it worked but that’s where I got the kernel panic and it can’t install a new OS. Even with a new hard drive it won’t work . Please help me!
The biggest problem this model had and still does is the unprotect hard drive I/R cable. For a while Apple was even replacing it for free.
As you may be able to see in this photo, there is electrical tape on the bottom of the case to prevent the cable from touching the surface of the case. Also on the optical drive you can see 3M Extreme mounting tape being used to prevent the bottom of the case from contacting the cable as it comes over the stair step. This is the location of the majority of the cable failures. MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Hard Drive Cable Replacement To confirm this diagnostic, hook up an external hard drive with a know bootable system using a USB to SATA adapter. Disconnect the internal drive when doing this. If it works the diagnostic is confirmed.
