Chosen Solution
I own a late 2009 iMac Intel 27" EMC 2374. Since a few months now, the right lower part of the screen turns to be darker than the left side of the display (see picture). Is this issue a backlight and/or inverter one ? Many thanks in advance for advices and pointers.

Ouch! The LED backlight circuit has a problem! This could be the 27” iMac 27" LED Backlight Board Where one of the channels failed. It could be the cable to the display assembly, or it could be the LED backlight bar within the display assembly its self. Update (12/07/2020) You’ll need to use a multimeter to check the resistance of the backlight cable. I often find the connector on the LED strip breaks down from heat
