Fisher and Paykel Aquasmart Model # WL70T60DW1 Hi there, our washing machine isnt filling properly- the water level doesn’t cover the clothes, it just fills to the base. I have checked taps/input, all levels. It still washes ok if I fill the tub with buckets of water. I guess it still has the same problem during rinse cycle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I think that you may either have a faulty tube pressure sensor or if this is OK that there is a fault on the control board. There is a sensor in the washer that is activated by air pressure in a tube as the water level rises in the bowl. It signals to the control board which then knows depending on the level setting selected when to stop filling the machine. The pressure sensor is located in the control panel. Here is a link which shows how to open the control panel to get access to the sensor (Step.3 shows the tube connected to the sensor). http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-r… I am not certain how to test the sensor, to prove whether it is faulty or not. Once it is removed and if it only has a two wire connection, you could try using a DMM (Digital MultiMeter -Ohmmeter function) to see if the resistance measured across the two terminals alters when you blow into the sensor inlet with varying degrees of pressure. This is conjecture on my part but if you get no reading across the terminals at all at any stage to me this indicates that it is faulty, also if the reading never changes at all when you “pressurize” the inlet again I would say that it is faulty. Here is a link to a supplier of parts for your model washing machine. Scroll to halfway down the page to find the Tube Pressure Sensor part listing. http://spares.bigwarehouse.com.au/parts_… Hopefully this is of some help.
