Hi! I have a Kenmore 110 series washer with exactly the same issue. When the spin cycle engages, there is this terribly loud knocking noise and when the cycle completes, my clothes are still wet. The drum/ tub still moves no problem in the wash cycle. So is this a symptom that I should get the belt replaced or is it a transmission issue? Thanks! Iris
If your Kenmore 110 Series Washing Machine is making strange noises, see the Kenmore 110 Series Washing Machine Makes Unusual Noises problem page for possible causes and solutions. The drive belt really does not care which cycle your washer is on. Its only function is to connect the motor to the transmission. So, if it spins the drum in any cycle, your belt is okay. Are you pretty handy when it comes to repairs?
