I’ve recently had to replace the trackpad flex cable on my Macbook Pro 13, Early 2015 (Macbook 12.1), because both the keyboard and trackpad stopped working. Replacing the cable fixed the keyboard and trackpad, however I am observing unusually loud fans even when CPU is nearly idle. The MacsFanControl reveals that the Palm Rest sensor is at about 47 degrees Celsius when the fans are loud (5000rpm and more). Could this be a battery problem? The battery cycle count is at 680, condition is normal. The palm rest sensor never drops bellow 40 degrees Celsius when Mac is actively used and charging brings it up even more.
The palm sensor is part of the touchpad MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Early 2015) Trackpad often I find people who excessively clean their system encounter this as they use a spray cleaner directly on the keyboard, touchpad and uppercase surfaces so the cleaner has a chance to seep though damaging the touchpad. I strongly recommend spraying the cloth and then taking the damp cloth to wipe the surfaces as well as the screen.
