Good Day, I tried being smart by installing a cracked version of bandicam to my school laptop (wanted to record my presentation without watermark), not very smart idea. My laptop does not have a decent anti-virus ( Trend Micro Office scan). Before the installation I have never heard the fan sound, but now it is very loud. The office scan only detected the spyware during my installation. Please help my CPU usage is very high now but I cannot find the program causing it
Sounds like a cryptojacking virus. Disconnect from the internet and see if the fan slows down. Use another computer to find an antivirus that will find and remove the virus. google “mining virus” for clues. MalwareBytes is listed as one that will do the job. Download it and install it on the sick computer, then run it. Once removed you can reconnect to the internet.
Hi, Have you tried WIndows Security? It comes with every Windows installation. In Win 10, go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Security > Virus and threat protection > Scan Options
