Hi all…that’s a little bit complicated. I lost my iPhone while I hiked in the rainforest 7 days ago in Latin America. It was out of power at that time. Then today a staff found it on the track. It definitely rained in the past days. So I believe the phone has been damaged by water. I wonder is there is a chance to repair it? Is it worth being shipped it back to the U.S.? Thank you!!
The fact it was powerless will probably be a big plus when attempting a repair as most damages take place because of power leaking in wrong paths due to liquid presence. It’s definitely worth trying to repair it in my view and if nobody tried to charge it and turn it on the phone might be still in relatively good conditions. Being still a worthy iPhone, finding a reputable lab specialized in microsoldering in your area would be a good idea. Good luck !
Open it up and see if it got internally wet. I would not attempt a charge or turning on until you do. iPhone 7 Screen Replacement
