I have looked everywhere for the adhesive strips for remounting the glass. Is there a substitute or a recommendation that anyone has for this. It doesn’t seem like anyone has the strips for a mid-2011. Will the 2012 strips work? Thanks!
There is no adhesive strips for the 2011 and older models! These older series use magnets to hold the cover glass on. Review this guide: iMac Intel 27" EMC 2429 Display Replacement Note in step 2 the use of suction cups to gasp the cover glass to gently pull it away from the case (magnetic attraction force holds it on), the glass has metal plates glued to it along the top and sides on the inside surfaces meeting up with the rare earth magnets on the display panel which is screwed into the case.
