Hi, I’ve been looking on this site for a display inverter for my MacBookPro , without success… The ones I’ve found on ifixit are not compatible with MacBooPro 13" unibody….. arg. Anyone could tell me where I can find some ? Thanks ! Anne Update (09/17/2016) When I turn my MBP on, it works well but the screen is totally dark… When I put a light behind, I can see what’s on the screen, so it’s seems to be a problem of display. Accordind to a friend of mine, I have to change the display inverter. Mise à jour (09/05/2017) Hi, After a while (…), I come back on this post, with some pictures ! I opened the computer whith a friend of mine, he checked the fuses and everything seemed to be OK for him, so he couldn’t tell what was this problem exactly. I asked then in a Macstore for a draw up estimate and, after checking, they told me I have to change the motherboard…..arg. What do you tink about that ?! Anne
@annefanny you computer does not have a separate inverter. You backlight is LED and uses backlight circuity that is integrated on the logic board. To fix this, you will require to do some faultfinding like @danj suggested. It is uncommon for the backlight to just quit working. I would check the display connector to make sure there is not short on it. Post plenty of images of what you see with your question. Use this guide for that. That may help us to help you further.
I would start off by checking the backlight fuse. Here’s an image to help guide you to where its located:
The fuse is the chip with the P on it.
