it’s called a lifeboat connector, which is missing its cover. with this missing, your macbook would not recognize internal storage.
See step #16 of this guide, it’s a small metal plate, probably covering a test port as there is nothing exiting it: MacBook Pro 13" Touch Bar 2017 Antenna Cable Assembly Replacement
@oliviertlse @oldturkey03 & @mayer Here’s a picture of the cover as it also a bridge connector which is needed! Did you forget it or did someone forget to put it on?
