Hi. I have a macbook pro mid 2010. My video card is damaged. The computer often unexpected system restarts (GPU PANIC). Apple Authorized Service said it is necessary to replace the LOGIC BOARD. This service is very expensive in my country (Brazil). I’m trying to buy the card in the US. I wonder if I can take the occasion to upgrade by installing a mid-2012 pro macbook logic board in place of the logic board of the MacBook Pro mid-2010. The case (unibody) is compatible? thankyou.

Requires a c9560 capacitor replacement its easy just requires hot air and some tweezers. Best replacement is a GRM32EC80E337ME05L or theres a samsung version louise rossman uses. People telling you to reball shouldnt post here ever again. No the 2012 model has a superior but different video connector. You could use a 2011 board but they run terminally hot and gpus are all dead at this point and charge chips die and kill smc.
