hi everybody, first of all, your work is awesome, it helped me a lot of times replacing and fixing many issues. This time i want to upgrade my Cpu, from a Core 2 duo to an intel i3 or i5 or i7, but i’ve read that i can’t just change the CPU, because something is different (i’m not a computer guy, i have a pretty good manual skill but no tech background). So i was thinking, CAN I REPLACE THE LOGIC BOARD with a model that mount an iSeries processor? do you know if any of the newer logic boards will fit in my machine? thank you
Sadly, I think you will end up paying more trying to trick out your old Core 2 Duo than just selling your old system and buying a new one. This is not a project I would recommend unless you have some deep skills with computer hardware and lots of time trying to make your own parts.
