Hi there, I understand that the RAM is soldered to the logic board of my macbook pro retina - does this mean that I can replace my RAM if I replace the logic board? There’s no mention of the memory in the install instructions. How much RAM comes with the logic board iFixit sells? Thanks, Luis
First here is the IFIXIT guide you’ll need to follow to swap out your logic board: MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2012 Logic Board Replacement As to how much memory the board has IFIXIT offers 3 boards based on the CPU clock (2.3, 2.6 & 2.7 GHz) with each of these boards you have the option to buy a 8 GB or a 16 GB version of it.
Hi, I’ve a question related to this subject. I’ve a MacBook Pro Retina A1398 (2,3GHz / 8GB), so could I upgrade my computer by replace it with any A1398 motherboard model ? For example with an 2,7GHz / 16gb) ? Thanks
