Hi everyone, recently the GPU (Radeon 6750M, 512MB) on my late-2011 MBP died. Currently I’m considering getting a 2nd hand logic board and replace my current logic board with it. I found the following one at a decent price:
- early-2011 with 1GB GPU My question is, will it be compatible with my MBP, which is late-2011 and with a 512MB GPU? Thanks!!
Systems within the same ID group are based on the same hardware with mostly just CPU alterations. So if we look at your systems hardware ID group: MacBookPro8,2 We’ll see they are compatible. As it turns out the MacBookPro9,1 systems are as well, with one minor alteration the LVDS cable connection is using a slightly different connector on the logic board side, the 2012 is slightly narrower widthwise. But, the display cable can be altered to make it fit with a little filing of the edge.
