Chosen Solution
My MJLU2LL/A A1398 seems to have fried the motherboard. it’s a 2.8GHz model. All I can find out in the wild is this board 661-0257 which says it’s compatible with MJLQ2LL/A and MJLT2LL/A models, but does not mention MJLU2LL/A. Is this compatible, or should I pass on it?
Well, its not so simple! Apple produced two model versions what we call: Intergraded Graphics (IG) and Discreet Graphics (DG) To simplify things I would plug in your systems S/N into here EveryMac - Lookup to be sure. Here’s a breakdown by the Model ID’s MacBookPro11,4MacBookPro11,5 So depending on what your system is, the systems which share your systems ID are compatible (directly drop in). The MJLT2LL/A is a DG model it was sold as a 2.5 GHz but the 2.8 GHz model is a custom order (I’ve got two my self). Which are harder to find.
