My question is similar to others for different models of the Sony Cyber-Shot camera the date/time need to be re inputted each time the main battery is removed/replaced. I wish to be aware of the exact location of the battery as :after checking out the manual for different models the design is different . making the disassembly and repair troublesome . I have used your site for many repairs of apple phones and ipods but now I am in different territory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @videophile999 , Here’s an image showing the location of the backup battery Sony part #1-756-813-11 (supplier example only), taken from p.18 of the service manual for the camera
(click on image to enlarge for better viewing) The manual details how to dis-assemble the camera and it appears that the battery is soldered onto the MS-461 board. (Sony part #A-1818-410-A - I can’t find an image of the board which would help but once you have accessed it the battery would be quite obvious) I only found a few supplier listings when using the part number to search online for the battery. You may have better luck. Hopefully this is of some help.
